Arifu

Arifu
Nairobi, Kenya
Delivering learning content in Kenya faces significant challenges due to the cost and accessibility barriers associated with both in-person and online learning methods. In-person learning can be costly, making it unaffordable for many individuals, and the time-consuming nature of traditional classroom settings can be impractical for those juggling work or other responsibilities. Additionally, individuals residing in remote or underserved areas may find it entirely out of reach due to the lack of training facilities nearby.
On the other hand, while online learning offers flexibility, it requires access to the internet and appropriate technology, which may not be readily available to all, further widening the digital divide. Organizations aiming to provide training to customers, small businesses, and employees also encounter challenges, as they lack easy, affordable, and scalable ways to deliver effective training programs. This hinders the dissemination of valuable knowledge and skills to a broader audience, inhibiting personal and professional growth and contributing to the educational disparities in the country. Arifu offers accessible, affordable, and scalable learning experiences with its cutting-edge, inclusive, and mobile technology, bridging gaps and empowering learners from all walks of life
Loho Learning

Nairobi, Kenya
The availability, accessibility and scalability of quality and engaging educational content are major issues in Africa. Contents are still limited to hard copy and printed books which have proven to be grossly ineffective in delivering learning outcomes due to lack of flexibility and personalization, as well as minimal level of learner engagement. This one-size-fits-all approach does not cater to individual learning styles and pace of individual students. Similarly, multimedia resources are not fully leveraged in the delivery of the learning content. Loho provides digital content that gives interactive and adaptive learning experiences, enabling students to engage with the material in diverse ways and at their own pace. Loho empowers learners with a more engaging, tailored, and effective learning experience, resulting in improved knowledge acquisition and better overall learning outcomes

Despite the recent gains in access to education in Kenya, millions of students and youth do not have access to quality and relevant education. The literacy and numeracy rates are on the decline putting the pupil-teacher ratio(PTR) at 56:1 against the recommended ratio of PTR of 40:1. Traditional learning and teaching models have proven to be ineffective in meeting students’ learning needs. Teachers are overwhelmed by routine administrative tasks and large volumes of classes. This clearly indicates that the education system is in dire need of innovation to address the disparities. Angaza Elimu is focused on transforming primary and secondary education in Kenya and beyond by implementing innovative and affordable modern models of learning and teaching.
